The Level 3 certificate in personal training course is the qualification needed if you plan to further your role in the fitness industry working as a personal trainer. As a qualified personal trainer, you will be able to carry out personal training with individuals, including one to one sessions, diet planning, fitness programming and working within an organisational setting or a self-employed environment. This can lead onto qualifications such as exercise referral for specialist populations and the pre and post natal exercise qualification.
The level 3 personal trainer qualification is comprised of the following units;
Unit 1: Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
Unit 2: Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
Unit 3: Principles of exercise, fitness and health
Unit 4: Anatomy and physiology for exercise and health
Unit 5: Programming personal training with clients
Unit 6: Delivering personal training sessions
Unit 7: Applying the principles of nutrition to a physical activity programme
Assessment methods include, 2 multiple choice exams, coursework, a portfolio of evidence, and practical assessment.

Liam completed his level 2 certificate in fitness instructing and level 3 certificate in personal training qualifications with KLT.
When Liam started studying with us, he was a chef at a local restaurant. We were able to work around his shift patterns to ensure he got the support he needed to complete his course.
Whilst studying for his level 3, Liam gained employment at his local sports centre gym, in which he oversees the youth gym. He has now started personal training- his first client being the person who was his case study throughout his course, who was so happy with the results, he’s decided to continue his fitness journey!
Liam hopes to use his experience in both fitness and catering to provide his clients with a complete lifestyle package to help them in reaching their goals.
Alex completed his level 2 gym instructing and level 3 certificate in personal training qualifications with Kent Leisure Training.
Throughout his level 3, Alex trained his client at Dynamix Leisure, and now a certified personal trainer, who was impressed with the facilities on offer, continues to train with his client informally as training buddies.
Alex plans to transfer his certificate with Fitness Australia get a working VISA in order to start working as a fitness instructor and running circuit classes in a gym, with a view to pick up personal training clients as his reputation builds.
